New Zealand native, this tasty and fascinating heirloom veggie has been grown since the 1770's after being initially introduced by famed British botanist Sir Joseph Banks, who collected it on his journey to the South Seas with Captain James Cook.

New Zealand Spinach is not a true spinach but is very popular for growing during warm summer weather, when regular spinach can "bolt". A heavy yield can be harvested throughout the summer. It does not bolt in hot weather nor does it typically turn bitter and it is valued because of its high vitamin C content.

Strong spreading plants branch freely. Fleshy leaves are great for fresh summer greens. Best when picked all summer and fall.

Seeds are slow to germinate, so be patient.

Approximately 50-70 days to maturity.

Tetragonia expansa

Pkt: 20 Seeds
