German Chamomile is a must-have herb if you enjoy drinking hot or cold teas. The beautiful small flowers are a staple ingredient in herbal teas, used fresh or dried, with a sweet fruity fragrance, where they have a soothing, calming effect. They are also used in potpourris, shampoos and hair rinses.

Up to 24 inches tall and 15 inches wide, German Chamomile has many thin branches of finely divided green leaves. The tiny daisy-like flowers of German chamomile have white petals with cone-shaped, yellow centers and are less than an inch wide and appear early through midsummer.

German is closely related to Roman chamomile, which has many of the same medicinal properties. German chamomile considered more potent and medically superior to Roman chamomile. It contains a higher proportion of chamazulene, an active chemical constituent.
